Italian Language and Culture - Conversation Class

Course Description

Whatever your level, come and practise your Italian in this conversation course. You will explore aspects of popular and high culture in Italy, developing your confidence and vocabulary to speak more fluently and accurately in a variety of contexts.

Course Requirements

This short course is aimed at students who already have the skills to hold simple conversations on everyday topics in the target language.

Course Content

Whatever your level, come and practice your Italian in this conversation course. You will explore aspects of popular and high culture in Italy, developing your confidence and vocabulary to speak more fluently and accurately in a variety of contexts.

Teaching and Learning Methods

You will be actively learning through a variety of interactive classroom activities, in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. You will work in pairs/small groups to practise speaking and listening, with worksheets and activities to develop your reading and writing. Learning will be enriched through the use of audio-visual aids, realia (authentic material), online interactive resources, and role play. Resources used within each lesson are available for learners on our online learning platform, Google Classroom. The skills you are learning should be practised outside college in order to develop and progress.

Assessment

Assessment is continuous and will take place throughout the course. The tutor will give you feedback on your speaking in class, and mark your written work. During the course, you will set up an individual learning plan, where you will reflect on your progress and set your own targets. There is no formal qualification attached to this course but you can receive a Certificate of Completion from the college on request.

Next Steps and Progression

Once you have completed the course, you may choose to enrol on another italian or a Humanities and Culture course, or another subject. Advice and guidance is available from the Curriculum Manager on request

Additional Learning Support

Teachers are supported to ensure their materials are inclusive to meet all learners needs. Provision of assistive equipment is available and access support can be provided through reasonable adjustments, subject to an assessment by the ALS team and/or the Disability Officer. Digital Learning support is available in the Learning Centre at our Camden site. Careers advice and guidance is also available to all learners.
